Making the most of hibernation season

Winter doesn’t have to be all tissues, cold medicine and face steamers. Here are some ways to make the most out of your hibernation season:

Netflix and don’t chill. During the colder months, many of us fill our weekends shuffling from the couch to the fridge and back while watching Netflix. While taking shelter from the elements, it’s great to have some comforting items close by. A plush throw, wool socks, steeped teas and vitamin C tablets will ensure your latest binge obsession is as comfortable (and immunity-building) as can be.

Food for thought… and comfort. Once you’ve got your most comforting items all in a row, the next step is planning for a toasty time at home. Food delivery apps will be your go-to. Stick to items like pho, ramen, soups and stews. They’ll bring you joy and warmth – while still providing the nutrients needed to boost your immune system.

Build your immunity kit. After a week of commuting and interacting with people, public transit and countless germs, you want to make sure your immune system remains strong. Building a flu season immunity kit is your best offense and defense against even the mildest winters. Visit your local Rexall for a one-stop-shop for everything you need, including lozenges, tissues, zinc, echinacea and free flu shots administered on site.
